DLyte Desktop Dental, the First Ultra-Compact Dry Electropolishing Machine for Small Dental Labs

May 5 , 2021

GPAINNOVA, the global leading company in surface finishing electropolishing technologies and specializing in marine robotics, medical devices and high-performane power electronics, has just launched its second ultra-compact dry electropolishing machine: DLyte Desktop Dental. Due to its low price, which is below €10,000, the new device is affordable to any dental lab, no matter what size, and allows an automated polishing process for cobalt chrome (CoCr) pieces.

DLyte Desktop Dental completes the Desktop Series as a cost-effective solution for high-quality metal surface treatments. From grinding to mirror finishing, the new set-up offers an easy way to process any casting, sintering or milling RPDs.

DLyte Desktop Dental’s Main Benefits

Based on the DLyte system and the disruptive DryLyte Technology, DLyte Desktop Dental reduces costs by up to 80%, provides production flexibility and standardizes the company’s products. This machine offers a unique solution to meet the needs of the dental industry, with traceable and predictable results, according to polishing requirements, production quantities, and piece dimensions.

With DLyte Desktop Dental metal frameworks are homogenously finished without the need of multi-step manual processes. Thus, laboratory technicians can optimize their effective working time by concentrating on value-added tasks.

DLyte Desktop Dental also improves the work environment of small dental laboratories by replacing traditional hand polishing and hazardous materials. The surface finishing automation protects technicians from exposure to the chemical agents at work. Its consumables used are safe and clean, without hazards of chemical liquid waste or dust during the polishing process.

This machine is affordable to any company because of its small dimensions (450 x 521 x 471 mm) and its price, and for not requiring a special pre-existing or compressed air installation, it makes it accessible to any lab. Any professional can easily learn how to use it without any background knowledge, because of its intuitive software.

Another advantage is that its mechanical design ensures an exceptionally smooth and silent operation making the device the perfect choice for small laboratories with space constraints.

How DLyte Desktop Dental Works

DLyte Desktop Dental combines the DryLyte Technology performance with the ease of a plug-and-play system, which automates surface treatment with an excellent quality. It offers unrivaled utility at a fraction of the cost per piece of any other surface finishing method. This technology guarantees minimal material removal, geometry preservation and an unbeatable shine in every single RPD.

DLyte Desktop Dental works in a very similar way to the rest of DLyte equipment. First, a 3-liter container filled of solid electrolyte is placed in the machine in less than a minute. Secondly, the parts to be polished are clamped onto the holder finger and placed into the equipment. Finally, technicians select the program that best meet their needs. When the fully automated cycle of 50-60 minutes is over, the piece is ready.

DLyte Desktop Dental is suitable for polishing CoCr. For professionals requiring further surface finishing solutions, first GPAINNOVA’s ultra-compact DLyte machine, DLyte Desktop PRO, can polish titanium and stainless steel, as well as more metals with an optional software upgrade. It can treat copper, brass, nickel alloys, aluminum and other hard metals.

In September 2018, DryLyte Technology was distinguished with the TCT Award for excellence in Additive Manufacturing Post-Processing. There are more than 400 satisfied customers who have taken the step towards polishing automation with DLyte.
