Es findet sich in \u00e4sthetischen Teilen, wie z. B. in der Architektur, im Transportwesen, in Konsumg\u00fctern oder in Metallteilen f\u00fcr die Mode- und Luxusindustrie, aber auch in Metallteilen f\u00fcr Lebensmittel-, Pharma- und medizinische Anwendungen. Eine hochwertige Hochglanzoberfl\u00e4che ist nicht nur optisch ansprechend, sondern die allm\u00e4hliche Beseitigung von Oberfl\u00e4chenkratzern durch Polierverfahren verringert auch Vertiefungen oder Rillen auf dem Metall, die Verunreinigungen wie Schmutz oder Bakterien enthalten k\u00f6nnen. Glatte Oberfl\u00e4chen werden durch die Arbeit mit verschiedenen K\u00f6rnungen in mechanischen Anwendungen erreicht, um Kratzer und Unreinheiten schrittweise aus dem Metall zu entfernen. Au\u00dferdem werden beim trockenen Elektropolieren die Toleranzen eingehalten und die urspr\u00fcngliche Form der Werkst\u00fccke, auch der Schnittkanten, beibehalten, ohne dass Schleifstrukturen entstehen.
